I grew up in a small hillside village in Manipur. As a child, I enjoyed running across the golden fields, down the rocky hills, and along the river that flowed between two mountains, with wildflowers, butterflies, and the wind on my face. I believe I could be the fastest boy, or imagine that I could fly and was fascinated by science fiction.

I even dreamed of building an indestructible car, the future seems full of possibilities and I wanted to be older.

I have always been fascinated with life itself- that we are all billions of people thrown into a pool of randomness, trying to make sense of its senselessness and incomprehensibility. And Yet, Here I am, in the midst of all its absurdity.

I enjoyed having conversation with people about life, listening to their stories and learning about their wonders and sorrows. There’s always a kind of magic in that. Perhaps that is part of what drew me to clinical psychology.

I was a clinical neuropsychology fellow at NIMHANS, where I learned how trauma to the brain can change the way a person thinks about the world. Later, I worked at the Student Wellness Centre at IIT Roorkee, and currently worked as a Clinical Psychologist at AIIMS Guwahati.

I am deeply grateful to Dr. Raviraj and Dr. Aditi. Since I joined the fellowship of community well-being and ecological belonging under The Well-being Lab. I learned from them to sit with uncertainty & vulnerability, that learning could be fun, and, most of all, I think the fellowship help me find parts of myself I had forgotten- child who love writing and imagining.

For all the things that has passed and for all the things that awaits us.

Here’s to life & Here’s to us!
