Bhavishya Kalyanpur

Bhavishya is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist with eight years of experience working with young adults in mental health. Her work spans psychotherapy, supervision, and professional training, with a particular focus on queer-affirmative practice, neurodivergence, trauma, and grief. She has worked with queer and trans clients through her clinical practice and has conducted webinars and seminars on queer-affirmative care for mental health professionals.

Her approach to queer-affirmative practice is grounded in moving beyond individual-level understandings of distress to consider the social, cultural, and systemic contexts in which people live. She is particularly interested in reducing pathologization in clinical practice, helping clinicians examine their own assumptions and biases, and attending to intersectionality in therapy through lived experiences of trauma, grief, and neurodivergence that intersect with queer and trans identities and lives.
