Anand and Parul are parents of Kabir Kumtha. Kabir is neurodiverse and runs Kabir’s Kreations an enterprise that sells products such as garlands, paintings, mugs, spectacle lanyards, bridal floral chaddars, etc. prepared by him.

Along with Anand and Parul, Kabir is a co-host at Aagḻévegḻé, (आगळेवेगळे) - a safe, inclusive, free community space celebrating diversity, which is situated on the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra, India. Aagḻévegḻé means uniquely different in Marathi.

Anand has been a Professor of Mathematics & Statistics. He is fascinated by and done research in the mathematical theory of games, and worked to evolve and use games for social leisure of neurodiverse persons. He volunteered for several years in a club and a workspace to facilitate these and other games for neurodiverse adults.

Parul is an architect who works on Universal Design and is empannelled on the government Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan. Her poems on autism can be found on Facebook and YouTube under Why? Autism Poems by Parul Kumtha. Her Tedx talk titled Inclusion: A celebration of diversity is also available on YouTube. 

While Kabir has been a self-advocate for autism and disability rights, both Anand and Parul have spearheaded several endeavors for equal opportunities and accessibility across disabilities, both as primary caregivers and in their professional capacities. They have authored several books in their area of work, and are core member and trustee respectively of the Mumbai based support group Forum for Autism. In addition, they have taken training in Narrative Practices and Social Role Valorisation.

Ardent readers, all three like to dabble in different forms of performing arts and fine arts and love to engage in challenging tasks and pastimes, which could be solving puzzles or doing white-water rafting. They enjoy traveling, meeting diverse people and learning about their cultures, values and beliefs.
